Annual Meeting of the US Virtual Herbarium Project (WERA 1015).

The US Virtual Herbarium project was initiated in 2008 with the goal of enabling integrated access to all specimens records from all US herbaria. It operates at three levels: helping individual herbaria make their specimen records web-accessible; promoting regional networks; and working with iDigBio to enable any website to access all herbarium records in all US herbaria. Formally, the project is a coordinating body sponsored by the Western Association of Agricultural Experiment Station Directors (WAAESD). In 2014, it started its second five year authorization period. Each State’s Agriculture Research Stations Director may provide travel funds for one representative his or her state to attend the annual meeting but the meeting is open to anyone involved with US herbarium networking. If you would like to become involved in this project, please contact Mary Barkworth (mary.barkworth [at] gmail.com
