Conference Wide Moore, Michael J. [1], Martine, Christopher [2], Krakos, Kyra [3], Theiss, Kathryn [4]. Faculty Life at an Undergraduate Institution. Many students desire a career at primarily undergraduate institutions (PUIs), which can be a highly rewarding experience that encompasses special opportunities and challenges. This workshop is aimed at students and postdocs who may be interested in pursuing tenure-track faculty positions at PUIs, but is open to all. A panel of current botany faculty at undergraduate-focused institutions will address various important questions, including: (1) How should I prepare myself to be an attractive candidate for a faculty position at an undergraduate institution? (2) What is the tenure process like at PUIs? (3) How do I balance teaching, research, and service? (4) What can I expect from undergraduate-oriented research? The panel welcomes the audience to bring their own unique experiences and questions to the discussion. Log in to add this item to your schedule
